Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is one of the most hated figures in all of Republican politics by his own base. He’s finally on his way out. It’s pretty obvious that some sort of cognitive decline is happening when he’s delivering a press conference and then just freezes up for 30 seconds at a time.
McConnell isn’t ready to say it publicly yet, but it’s only a matter of time now before the announcement comes that he’ll be stepping down to spend more time with family. This obviously presents a huge opportunity for GOP voters, since Senator Loading Screen will need to be replaced.
The question is whether Republicans in the US Senate can manage to muck it up like they always do, by replacing McConnell with one of his ideological clones.
