A plan that would “open the floodgates for Palestinians” to arrive in the United States is reportedly being circulated among Democrats in both the House and the Senate, according to a report from the Daily Caller. This proposed plan would allow Palestinians to gain entry into the United States much more easily.
According to Henry Rodgers of the Daily Caller, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) are lobbying their fellow Democrats to sign onto a letter urging President Joe Biden to provide Palestinians currently in the United States with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED). The aim of the letter is to strongly encourage Biden to grant TPS and DED protections.
Both Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Enforced Departure would serve to prevent the deportation or removal of Palestinians currently living in America.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a far-left activist organization with significant ties to the Democratic Party, has also written a letter to President Biden requesting TPS and DED protections specifically for Palestinians now residing in the US. This CAIR letter comes at the same time as the reported letter from the group of Democratic lawmakers.
CAIR’s letter follows the recent introduction of legislation by Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) and other House Republicans that would prohibit the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from providing Palestinians with green cards, visas, refugee status, or parole.
Additionally, under Zinke’s proposal, Palestinians currently in the US would have their existing visas revoked, making them eligible for deportation.
On two separate occasions so far, Biden administration officials have stated they will not carry out the procedures required by federal immigration law to revoke visas for foreign nationals who support Hamas and are currently staying in the US.
These revelations highlight the Biden administration’s lack of willingness to enforce immigration law, especially when it comes to questionable figures that should not be allowed to remain in the country.
And it represents a concerning step towards allowing unchecked, mass immigration from regions known to harbor anti-American sentiment. Even giving protected status to entire groups of people which can lead to waves of new migration.
