Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are expected to sign a joint defense agreement in Saudi Arabia on Friday, according to Reuters, which cited two regional sources familiar with the matter.
The agreement would formalize closer military cooperation among the three countries as they seek to deepen security ties following months of heightened instability across the Middle East.
Reuters reported that the pact is expected to be signed during meetings in Saudi Arabia involving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who are visiting the kingdom.
The regional sources told Reuters that details of the agreement have not been made public, but the pact is expected to expand military coordination among the three nations.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan already signed a strategic defense agreement in 2025, while analysts have said Turkey has been pursuing closer security ties with both countries in recent months.
The expected agreement comes as countries across the region continue to strengthen defense partnerships amid the Iran conflict and continuing concerns over regional security and maritime trade routes.
