President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Taiwan committed to purchasing between $70 billion and $80 billion in liquefied natural gas from the Alaska LNG Project and agreed to invest $4.4 billion in equity.
"I am also announcing today that my Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, has secured an Offtake Commitment from Taiwan of between 70 to 80 Billion Dollars for Alaska LNG," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He said the commitment covers 30% of the pipeline for the next 20 years, calling it "the largest Offtake Agreement in History."
