The January 6 Liz Cheney Committee is no more. But in a further sign that the entire witch hunt against President Donald Trump was a charade, the committee pulled an incredibly sneaky move on their way out the door. They ordered all files and video accumulated in the course of their “investigation” to be sealed for 50 years. Because that’s what you do when you’re being totally honest and transparent with the public, apparently. It also allows them to now selectively leak anything they want to try to damage President Trump.
The latest leak from the committee was to Yahoo News, the same venue that the CIA used to launch the Russia collusion hoax. The “news” outlet published an article at the request of the CIA, which the FBI then used to fraudulently obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page.
Yahoo has somehow gotten its hands on the closed-door testimony that Trump’s former communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin gave to the January 6 Committee. Griffin testified that Trump had planned to fire CIA Director Gina Haspell in the final days before Joe Biden was sworn in and replace her with Kash Patel.
Both Axios and Vanity Fair published stories last year claiming that Trump wanted to appoint Patel as Haspell’s deputy CIA Director and then fire her. IF this is true – and it’s a big “if” – we can only speculate as to what Trump knew or what the plan was in the final days of his administration. We do know that Kash Patel was instrumental in exposing the Russia collusion hoax when he worked for former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) on the House Intelligence Committee.
At any rate, Farah Griffin testified that Haspell prevented Trump from firing her by unveiling a “suicide” pact within the CIA:
“Basically the entire [intelligence community] would walk with her if that happened, officially, like – or essentially, like, decapitating the entire intelligence community,” Farah Griffin stated. “They were able to stop it. But allegedly, for about 14 minutes, Kash was actually the CIA director.”
The whole thing smacks of the “Trump tried to choke out a Secret Service agent so he could commandeer the presidential limo and take over the government” BS story that the committee tried to push last year. Trump fired Gina Haspell but then backed down because the entire intelligence community threatened to quit? Does that sound right to you?
You have to keep in mind who Alyssa Farah Griffin is when reading about this. She was a loyal communications director to Trump right up until the end. But after January 6th, she suddenly starting claiming that Trump incited the “attack” on the US Capitol. She denounced Trump supporters for making fun of Sen. Mitt “Pierre Delecto” Romney.
After betraying her boss in that manner, Farah Griffin became a political commentator for CNN, and then became one of the co-hosts on “The View.” Griffin was reportedly such a nasty B-word to her former boss that her own family members refused to go to her wedding in November of 2021. Her own father refused to walk her down the aisle, because he was so disgusted about the lies she’d been telling about President Trump. So, that’s who we’re dealing with here. She sounds like a real peach!
But there’s no way to analyze or cross-reference any of the evidence about January 6, because the committee sealed everything for 50 years. That includes the 14,000 hours of surveillance video at the Capitol that day that still hasn’t been released.
Tucker Carlson said that one of the ways that Kevin McCarthy could win over some of the GOP holdouts in Congress, who are refusing to vote for him for Speaker of the House, would be to release all the files. There’s no benign or benevolent reason for those files to be sealed for 50 years. There can only be evil intent behind such an action. Whether a promise to do that would push McCarthy across the finish line is debatable. But it’s still a good suggestion.
If they really wanted to convince us that Donald Trump was up to something nefarious on his last days in office, they’re going to have to do better than this. More of these selective press leaks from the CIA aren’t going to convince anyone.
