Dầu mỏ có mặt ở nhiều nơi trên Trái Đất; Tại sao cùng là dầu mỏ, nhưng Saudi Arabia, Mỹ, Canada hay Venezuela lại khai thác theo những cách khác nhau? Có nơi chỉ cần khoan thẳng xuống là dầu trào lên. Có nơi phải bẻ gãy đá bằng áp lực nước khổng lồ. Có nơi phải đào cả mặt đất để lấy dầu trong cát.
Petroleum is found in many places across the Earth; yet, despite being the same substance, why do Saudi Arabia, the United States, Canada, and Venezuela extract it using such different methods? In some locations, oil simply gushes up after a vertical well is drilled. In others, the rock must be fractured using immense water pressure. Elsewhere, the very ground must be excavated to extract oil from the sand.
